Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
The Brief
"Create a new cover and interior page illustration for one of the most precious pieces of heritage: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland to celebrate the 150th anniversary year of the Lewis Carroll classic."
Response
In response to the brief a contemporary twist on the style of classic book cover design was created with the use of delicate line illustrations, which form around the focal illustration of Alice herself. Capturing the iconic characteristics of the traditional character, her blonde hair and 'Alice band' illustrated digitally to create a fresh new look to enchant a while new readership.
A number of concepts were created in response to the brief, one of which shown below. The concept behind this front cover design is again to include Alice herself but in addition features a playing card theme.
